Time is running out! You have a little over 24 hours left to bid on the 1 kg silver coin from the 2014 UNESCO World Heritage West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou series.
This coin is currently up for auction online at http://www.zhaoonline.com/jinianxilie-yin/2795322.shtml. At the time of writing, the latest bid stood at 12200 yuan from a first-time bidder.
The 1 kg silver UNESCO World Heritage West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou coin currently up for sale has a face value of 300 yuan, measures 100 mm in diameter, and has a fineness of 99.9%. At just 3000 pieces, its official mintage is relatively low. This particular coin comes in its original case with the certificate of authenticity, and has a PCGS grade of PF70.
The series was officially issued by the People’s Bank of China on the 30th May 2014, but didn’t hit the marketplace until the first week in June. Since then the series has maintained a respectable degree of interest, despite the general lack of enthusiasm shown in recent months by the market. Generally speaking, prices for the 1 kg silver coin have remained stable, creeping up from 10000 yuan, and settling around the 12000 yuan mark.
Of the coins that have been issued over the last year, this is seen as a good investment option. The reasons for this are twofold. Firstly, the coin features an attractive design, showing a panorama of Hangzhou’s West Lake on the reverse face. Such themes are appealing to collectors. Secondly, compared to other coins with similar specifications from past years, its mintage is considered to be fairly low. All these make this coin a good choice at this time – but hurry: there’s only one day left to bid.
The auction closes at 1900 on the 11th August 2014 Chinese time. Be aware that the coin can only be dispatched to Mainland China.
