Literature

Chinese literature is a deep, rich, and exciting genre. Of the many works of literature, fables, stories, and legends to emerge from both ancient and modern China, there is a core canon of four classics that the Chinese are particularly fond of. Such is their revered status that they form the basis for many cultural references and are popular among adults and children alike. They are: Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, Journey to the West, and Dream of the Red Chamber. These four epic tales are celebrated through several coin sets and series featuring depictions of famous scenes and protagonists found within their pages. Heroes and great battles are rendered in exquisite detail on the coin faces. It would be too hard to encapsulate their essence and sufficiently appreciate these stories in just one coin face, therefore it is well worth acquiring a complete set.
